Organic Mugwort Tea, By Buddha Teas

Vivid Dreams and Stress Reducing Tea

Starting at $6.99

Mugwort, also known as sailor’s tobacco and wild wormwood / scientific name is Artemisia Vulgaris, is a member of the daisy family along with other herbs like Yarrow, Ragweed, Tansy and Arnica. Native to Europe and Asia, Mugwort now grows as a weed throughout North America and has many medicinal benefits and psychedelic properties. The main benefits of Mugwort tea include its ability to ease menstrual pain, improve digestion, reduce anxiety and depression, promote dream retention, help with weight loss efforts, strengthen the immune system, detoxify the body and help regulate diabetes. Mugwort also helps with bone and joint discomfort and pain.

Mugwort has been promoted as a nervine to soothe the central nervous system and treat insomnia, anxiety and even seizures according to the American Cancer Society. The dream-promoting effects of Mugwort have been reported since the Middle-Ages in Europe and is thought to open the third eye sparking vivid dreaming.

Warning: Mugwort can cause reactions in people allergic to the asteraceae family – daisies, chamomile, calendula and ragweed and should be avoided if you are allergic to any of the other plants in this family. Other research has linked an allergy to mugwort pollen with allergies to foods like hazelnuts and celery.

Mugwort is one of my favorite herbs. I drink Mugwort tea at least three times per week, and it is by far my favorite legal herb for smoking (do not buy the tea to smoke it – get it -here-). After a long day, it helps me relax, and my dreams feel more like a memory than a dream the next day. I use Mugwort tea before bed when I’m struggling with shoveling a problem, and most of the time I wake up with the answer... like my mind was solving it while I was sleeping. Mugwort also mixes well with cannabis and intensifies the experience. Buddha Teas is the brand I drink.
